During my time in Oaxaca, Mexico, I am conducting an Independent Study Project as part of completing the School for International Training Mexico: Migration, Borders, and Transnational Communities study abroad program. This research aims to deepen my understanding of the complexities surrounding self-determination and autonomy of Indigenous communities. 

This research paper examines the social, economic, and environmental impacts of the Tren Maya project in Mexico, focusing on the effects of large-scale infrastructure megaprojects on indigenous communities and local populations.

A policy brief addressing educational inequalities in North Carolina’s public school system, proposing strategies for improving access to quality education in underserved communities. This project reflects my commitment to advocating for systemic change in education.
